About
Hello! My name is Angela, and I bring over 29 years of teaching experience to the world of tutoring. Throughout my career, I've had the joy of working with students across all grade levels—from first graders learning to read to high schoolers exploring advanced technology. I’m passionate about education, and I believe that with the right support, every student can thrive. My educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Northern Iowa. I’m certified to teach grades 1 through 8, as well as high school Technology Education. Currently, I teach high school Technology, where I guide students through real-world problem solving and digital learning. Prior to this, I spent nine years teaching middle school Science and Technology, and over 18 years teaching all subjects in elementary school classrooms. That wide range of experience helps me connect with students at any academic level and tailor instruction to fit their unique needs. In addition to classroom teaching, I have specialized training in the Really Great Reading phonics program, which supports struggling readers using research-based, multisensory strategies. I have extensive experience working with students who have ADHD or learning disabilities, and I take pride in making learning accessible, structured, and fun for every child. My teaching philosophy is simple: All students can learn. I meet them where they are, build on what they know, and provide instruction that’s engaging, interactive, and based on their individual interests. More than anything, I believe in boosting self-esteem and helping students rediscover their confidence as learners. Whether your child needs help with foundational reading, middle school science, technology projects, or simply finding the right study routine, I’m here to support their journey with patience, creativity, and care.
